If you take the time to come up with your ultimate visions or yearly goals, you fill find that some tasks will make the biggest contribution to these long-term goals and help you achieve your wider vision. The idea behind growth tasks is to pick areas of your life that relate to your wider vision and goals. This just helps me get a better view of my day plan by just scanning my tasks!Ĩ – Use growth tasks each and every day. Then I have a great set up where the oranges are morning tasks, the yellows are afternoon tasks and whites are evening tasks. I use my red for priority 1 tasks, which are tasks which must be completed today tasks. I have these color coordinated into red, orange, yellow and white. Say you have a task that is to read something, like a blog article or whatever, link it in the task! This saves it for later, which when you come to performing the task, you’ve got no excuse not to because it’s a simple case of clicking the link.ħ – Priority flags. So this allows you to have categories of tasks within your projects.Ħ – Insert links. Without the colon, it’s a task – with the colon, it becomes a header. So I can make a heading simply by using a colon. I also like to use verbs in capitals when they are at the start of an instruction, so I know immediately exactly what I’m doing – example: “BRAINSTORM ideas” “RECORD a video” “PUBLISH an article” “TAKE the kids to the dentist” – these are action words that I use to start whatever the task/instruction is.ĥ – Make headings. ![]() Use the bold formatting, or whatever catches your attention! For things that are really important or that you want to stand out for some reason, use some differentiation. Am I spending the most time on my growth tasks or my success areas – or am I just in the red area, where my routines are? The traffic-light system allows me to be productive in the right areas, taking massive action towards the goals that I have in my life.Ĥ – Use bold. This shows me where I’m spending my time and helps me identify whether it is really where I want to be spending my time.
